Canadian National Exhibition Association
HLT Advisory facilitated and executed a strategic planning process on behalf of the Strategy, Policy & Innovation Committee of the Canadian National Exhibition Association (“CNEA”). The CNEA operates under the direction of a 26 member Board of Directors, and approximately 130 association members from all aspects of the agricultural, manufacturing and business sectors. The CNEA is responsible for the planning and presentation of the annual Canadian National Exhibition at Exhibition Place in Toronto, Ontario. The CNE has been in continuous operation for over 125 years and routinely generates visitation exceeding 1.25/annum.
HLT led a strategic planning process in the spring 2014, intended to gain consensus on the strategic direction for the CNE over a 3-year horizon. The entire process occurred over a two-moth period and included extensive background research and analysis, a series of one-on-one board member interviews as well as numerous strategy sessions with the Strategy, Policy & Innovation Committee. The process culminated with a full-day workshop with committee, board, and senior staff that produced the final report and recommendations.
HLT provided a comprehensive strategic plan document that was subsequently presented and approved by the CNEA Board of Directors in June 2014.
